How to Apply for NSFAS online 2021

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme, NSFAS online application is open and will be closing 30 November 2020. All those who would like to apply for 2022-2023 academic cycle are encouraged to apply now before NSFAS application closing dates or deadline because NSFAS is not going to accept late application for 2022-2023 year.

If you want to apply, here is how to apply:

  • Visit NSFAS website:
  • Then, you click on “myNSFAS” tab
  • Create a myNSFAS account
  • After that, click on the “Apply” tab
  • Answer the questions you see on the screen
  • Upload the needed supporting documents
  • Click on the “Submit” button

NB: Please, make sure that you provide accurate and correct details for your NSFAS application process, i.e, your own cellphone number and email address because, you will be communicate by NSFAS through this medium. If you provide incorrect details your application may be delay or will not be processed and provisioned.

Upon clicking on the submit button, your application reference number is going to appear on the screen you see. Please, note that the reference number will also be sent to your cellphone number and the email address you provided during your application process. How Do I Apply for NSFAS 2021-2022

Required Supporting Documents

You require the following in other to complete your NSFAS application in 2021-2022:
  • You have to have your own cellphone number and email address
  • Your own copy of ID or birth certificate
  • Copies of your parents, guardian or spouse ID
  • The proof of your income or 1 year’s IRP5 (if applicable)
  • Parents, guardian or spouse’s proof of income
  • No proof of income will be required if you are a SASSA grant recipient.
  • Applicants who are disabled should submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
  • Any students who is recognised as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development should also provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form.
